Step 1: BRAINSTORM
Before you try to take on writing your final draft, let's make it easier by starting with brainstorming. Here's where you can think through what you want your family to value, experience, and/or emulate in each of the 3 Dimensions.Use the spaces below to jot down your initial thoughts on what matters most. (And in the next step, you'll be able to use these notes as building blocks for drafting your Values & Vision Statement.)
FOUNDATIONAL DIMENSION
Ideas include: Spirituality, ethics, leadership, communication skills, relationships, work ethic, community service, fun memories, uplifting entertainment, outdoor adventures, Family Retreats with a Purpose, etc.
INTELLECTUAL DIMENSION
Ideas include: Formal education, vocational training, continuing education for careers and/or hobbies, professional coaching and/or mastermind groups, online learning courses, new languages, musical talents, etc.
FINANCIAL DIMENSION
Ideas include: Abundant income, retirement strategies that provide for liquidity, safety, predictable rates of return, and tax advantages (such as an IUL LASER Fund), KASH Blueprint guidelines for accessing money from the family Legacy Bank for things like education, business ventures, etc.
Step 2: REFINE
Here's where you'll draft your Values & Vision Statement. To help you get started, we've included a screenshot of your Brainstorm Notes from Step 1, and also we've dropped those notes into the Values & Vision Statement - First Draft section.To refine your first draft, just click on the text and get started rearranging things, adding or deleting sentences, etc. When done, click "Next" to review your final draft.
Keep in mind your Values & Vision Statement can be a few words or a few pages, whatever works best for you! You can also involve your family in refining your statement so everyone can take ownership.
